Cauley Woodrow added the third from close range in the 61st minute, and Loftus-Cheek rounded off the clinical attacking performance from the Young Lions with his second.

It brought to an end a run of two successive defeats for the U21s under Boothroyd, who handed a debut to Southampton defender Sam McQueen while there were returns to the starting XI for Joe Gomez and Woodrow.

England took 10 minutes to put to bed their 1-0 defeat to Germany as Loftus-Cheek converted Murphy's cross to give his side the perfect start.

Five minutes later and March produced a brilliant finish to score his first England goal. Loftus-Cheek fed the Brighton man and he beautifully curled the ball into the top corner.

Both goalkeepers made good saves as the half drew towards the break as Woodrow forced Jeppe Hojbjerg into a smart stop, before Angus Gunn denied Lasse Vigen Christensen at the other end as he tried his luck from just inside the box.

Denmark made four changes at half-time, with goalkeeper Andreas Hansen coming on and Hjulsager replaced by Casper Nielsen, and the former was called into action early on as March's low cross low had to be palmed away.

England added their third just after the hour mark as John Swift fired a corner into the box, which was unintentionally headed into the path of Woodrow by club team-mate Christensen and the on-loan Burton forward finished from six-yards out.

Loftus-Cheek added his second in the 69th minute and he was at the heart of the action in the build-up, driving down the left flank before playing a give-and-go with Jack Grealish at the top of box. He then cut around his defender before firing in from the middle of the area to score England's fourth.

Denmark rarely tested England's defence, although they did make a few forays forward in the later stages with Gunn denying Christian Norgaard from distance.

But England ultimately saw out the game with ease, with their next fixture being the opening match of the U21 European Championships against Sweden on June 16.
