Swindon leave it late

Jonathan Obika drove home an injury-time winner as Swindon beat Doncaster 2-1 to consolidate their top three place in League One.

Curtis Main had fired Rovers ahead late in the first half, only for Michael Smith's penalty to restore parity, before Obika struck late on. In a first half bereft of chances, Main slotted home Nathan Tyson's pass after 40 minutes to take an unlikely lead. Doncaster nearly doubled their advantage inside a minute of the second period when first Kyle Bennett's shot was deflected inches wide, before Jonson Clarke-Harris' header was scrambled to safety by Swindon goalkeeper Wes Foderingham. But the second period was just seven minutes old when Swindon got back on level terms. Dean Furman failed to clear inside his own box, lost possession to Ben Gladwin and then hauled him down, with referee Tony Harrington pointing to the spot. Up stepped Smith to drive home the penalty and draw Swindon level. Tyson had a fierce effort pushed away by Foderingham, while Stephen Bywater kept Rovers on level terms at the other end, brilliantly denying John Swift with an outstretched boot. And there was late drama as Obika broke away and fired a shot inside the far post to secure Swindon's first-ever win at Doncaster.
