Borussia Dortmund's season took another turn for the worse when they were beaten 2-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday evening, a result which leaves them rooted to the foot of the Bundesliga.

Alexander Meier's early goal was added to by Haris Seferovic late on as Frankfurt climbed to ninth in the table.

Dortmund had enough chances to win the game, but were once again cursed by the bad luck which has accompanied them all season, although to have only 11 points from 13 games cannot purely be down to misfortune.

Dortmund had slumped to the bottom of the table by kick-off with Werder Bremen and Stuttgart both picking up wins this weekend.

That had led to suggestions Klopp may step down if his side's results did not improve, and the outlook was bleak when Meier put Frankfurt in front with his eighth goal of the season in the fifth minute.

He showed all of his experience to move level with the number of goals he struck in the whole of last season, keeping his composure to thread the ball through the legs of Roman Weidenfeller.

Luck has most definitely not been on Dortmund's side this season and it was a similar story when Kevin Grosskreutz smashed his shot against the post.

Sebastian Kehl sent a shot too close to Felix Weidwald as chance after chance went begging for Dortmund, evoking memories of previous games which they have dominated without managing to turn their chances into the most important currency in football, goals.

Marc Stendera nearly doubled Frankfurt's lead after good work from Seferovic, but Matthias Ginter deflected his shot past the post.

Wiedwald made an excellent save to deny Adrian Ramos as Dortmund started to play their football again after a slow start to the second half, increasing the pressure on the Frankfurt rearguard.

They relieved it with the second goal of the game, finishing Dortmund off with just over 10 minutes to go.

Meier sent a long ball which Ginter tried to head back towards Weidenfeller, but the goalkeeper had already come out for the ball and Seferovic accepted the gift to place it into the open goal.
