Debatable 'goal' sees off lowly Energie Cottbus

A controversial winner ensured Eintracht Frankfurt came from behind to claim a home win over Bundesliga strugglers Energie Cottbus. Frankfurt goalkeeper Oka Nikolov was left embarrassed shortly after the interval when he allowed a nothing effort from Timo Rost to slip through his hands from 20-yards. The home side responded strongly and quickly drew level through Brazilian Caio, who slotted in after a clever one-two with Martin Fenin. In the 65th minute the game garnered its central talking point when defender Marco Russ scored a contentious winner. Russ' shot was parried by Energie goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel and the ball hit the post before bouncing back down the goal line. Television replays showed that only part of the ball had crossed the line, but referee Michael Kemptner signalled for a goal. The win moves Frankfurt up to sixth place, while 15th-placed Cottbus are just above the drop zone.
