Bees secure first win of the season
Grimsby lost out to a first-half strike from Neal Bishop who helped Barnet secure their first victory of the season with a 1-0 success.
Bishop tapped home the priceless goal after 44 minutes to extend Grimsby's winless run in the league to 15 games.
The Mariners went close after 22 minutes when full-back Tom Newey fired a 25-yard free-kick just over before the visitors almost took the lead seven minutes prior to half-time when Ashley Carew crossed from the right and Albert Adomah placed a header narrowly wide.
Bishop then opened the scoring from close range and the Bees nearly made it two midway through the second half when striker Cliff Akurang saw his header from a corner just clear the crossbar.
Winger Malvin Kamara went close for the home side late on with a 20-yard right-foot volley which was well held by goalkeeper Lee Harrison.
