Bradford into third after Town win

Grimsby took their record-breaking run without a league win to 20 games as 10-man Bradford ran out 3-1 winners at Blundell Park. The Bantams lost centre-back Matt Clarke to a red card after just 12 minutes but still built up a 3-0 lead through Omar Daley (7), Michael Boulding (32) and Graeme Lee (58). Grimsby could only manage a solitary goal from Liam Trotter (65). Daley hit a superb opener. He raced past Jamie Clarke and cut into the box before hammering a right-foot shot into the roof of the net. But the visitors were reduced to 10 men when last defender Clarke pulled back Nathan Jarman with referee Graham Salisbury producing a red card. Bradford then increased their lead through Grimsby old boy Boulding. Joe Colbeck's run down the right was stopped by a Matt Heywood tackle, but Boulding pounced to fire the loose ball into the net. Rhys Evans made a brilliant save to keep out a Nick Hegarty strike early in the second half before Lee made it three, heading home a Paul McLaren corner at the far post. Grimsby finally pulled a goal back when Trotter rose to head home a Hegarty corner, but it proved to be no more than a consolation.
