Mariners put to the sword
Second-half goals from strikers Andy Bishop and Andy Morrell earned Bury a 2-1 victory over Grimsby.
The Mariners went ahead after 31 minutes through Adam Proudlock but the Shakers hit back through Bishop and Morrell to secure the points.
Michael Jones should have given Bury the lead after 20 minutes. Bishop's well-timed through ball left him with only Phil Barnes to beat but the midfielder fired over the bar.
Bury paid for that miss when Grimsby went ahead. Referee Andy Woolmer played advantage when Adrian Forbes was fouled and Proudlock outpaced the defence before guiding the ball past the advancing Mark Tyler.
Elliott Bennett was the architect of Bishop's equaliser in the 55th minute, weaving down the right before picking out the striker, who converted neatly at the near post.
Bishop then broke through and saw his shot pushed away by Barnes only for Morrell to swoop and fire home the winner.
