Veteran Ian Moore equalises a James Henry opening strike

Hartlepool and Bournemouth shared the spoils in an entertaining League One clash at Victoria Park on Sunday. Bournemouth took the lead in the 16th minute through a fantastic individual goal by James Henry. He picked up the ball on the edge of the penalty box and side-stepped a defender before hitting a beautiful left-foot shot into the top right-hand corner, giving keeper Jan Budtz no chance. Four minutes earlier Hartlepool striker Richie Barker should have put the home team in front when he missed a gilt-edged chance, failing to head home a looping cross from just three yards out.

      Equaliser

Hartlepool pressed and created chances and finally gained the equaliser their industry deserved when Ian Moore got his foot on a teasing, angled Joel Porter cross in the 40th minute. Hartlepool's James Brown was a threat throughout the match but could not convert his chances. He looked unlucky not to win a penalty when his shot appeared to be blocked on the line by Josh Gowling's arm in the 57th minute. Hartlepool substitute David Foley had a chance to win the game in the 87th minute put his shot wide under pressure from defender Scott Golbourne. The point from this game lifted Hartlepool two places to 13th in the table, while Bournemouth, who started the day second from bottom, also moved up two places to 21st, three points from safety.
