Bristol Rovers continued their climb up the League One table with a 2-1 victory at Hartlepool. Paul Trollope's side capitalised on Saturday's win at Stockport to earn another fine away win courtesy of first-half goals from Aaron Lescott and Jo Kuffour. Pools had actually taken the lead at Victoria Park through a 31st-minute effort by Dennis Behan. James Brown set up his strike partner to nod home from close range and claim his first goal since his summer move from Irish side Cork City.

Equaliser

Rovers were level eight minutes later, though, when Kuffour's shot was parried by Scott Flinders into the path of Lescott, who ran in from the left to sidefoot the rebound home. The winner came in first-half injury-time thanks to a great piece of footwork from Kuffour, who turned Hartlepool right-back Peter Hartley inside out before netting from close range. Hartlepool had a late chance to equalise through Leon McSweeney but his shot was parried away by Pirates keeper Fraser Forster.
