Leeds suffer further setback in promotion push

Hereford took revenge for an early season defeat at Elland Road by seeing off promotion-chasing Leeds 2-0 in front of their biggest crowd of the season at Edgar Street. A goal apiece for Jennison Myrie-Williams and Febian Brandy did the damage but it could have been so different had Lee Trundle's penalty not been saved by on-loan keeper Peter Gulacsi, after Kris Taylor had fouled Andy Robinson after 38 minutes. Following the let-off, Hereford swept down the field to take the lead through winger Myrie-Williams, who raced into the area before beating goalkeeper Casper Ankergren with a low shot into the far corner of the net from 15 yards. Midfielder Sam Hewson, on loan from Manchester United, went close to doubling Hereford's advantage just before the break, but his rasping shot sailed inches wide of the upright. Leeds had the better of the early stages in the second half but the Bulls struck again when the hosts' other Old Trafford starlet Brandy flicked the ball into the net from a header by Godwin Antwi in the 63rd minute
