Hibernian beat Livingston 2-1 at Easter Road to stretch their unbeaten run in domestic competitions to 14 matches.

James Keatings scored twice in the second half to secure a win that moves Hibs to within two points of fellow promotion hopefuls Rangers at the top of the Championship.

The home side endured a nervous finish to the match when Jordyn Sheerin scored with three minutes remaining, but Hibernian saw the match out to secure a 13th victory in their impressive run.

On a stormy night in Edinburgh there were few opportunities in the opening half, but Jason Cummings came close on 11 minutes when he rounded Marc McCallum but could only find the side netting from an acute angle.

The Livingston goalkeeper saved shots from John McGinn and midfield partner Liam Henderson as the half wore on.

But Hibs survived a scare four minutes after the break when Myles Hippolyte lost his marker at a corner and flicked the ball towards the goal but Darren McGregor cleared the danger.

Hippolyte caused further problems for Hibernian two minutes after he skipped past McGregor but was denied by a good save from Mark Oxley.

The home side were lifted by the goal and McCallum made a double save from Keatings and Cummings before the latter headed narrowly wide a minute later.

Keatings doubled the lead on 69 minutes when he created space at the edge of the box and curled the ball beyond 'keeper McCallum.

Livingston pulled a goal back when Liam Buchanan got in behind the Hibs defence and cut the ball back for Sheerin to slam his shot home, but it was too little too late for the visitors.
