Highlights of Hull against Blackburn in the Sky Bet Championship

Jordan Rhodes earned Blackburn a 1-1 draw after Abel Hernandez had given Hull the lead at the KC Stadium.

Hernandez struck in the second half on Saturday as the home side dominated a game which also saw the Sky Bet Championship return of Tigers midfielder Jake Livermore, who tested positive for cocaine last season.

But Blackburn earned a share of the points with a stoppage-time equaliser from Rhodes.

Hull's first effort on target was in fact an overhit through-ball from Mo Diame with 10 minutes gone but they grew into the game and Chuba Akpom was just off target with a looping header from Ahmed Elmohamady's cross.

Hernandez was denied after 17 minutes as he brought a save out of Jason Steele from a narrow angle when he had players in support to cut the ball back to.

Hull were twice denied after patient build-up when the Rovers defence, well led by their captain Grant Hanley, cut out the final ball to Sam Clucas.

Hernandez was off target with a bicycle kick from 20 yards after 28 minutes when Blackburn cleared a Clucas free-kick to the edge of the area.

Hull continued to build pressure and when they recycled possession from their first corner after 33 minutes, Elmohamady's long-range shot was pushed round the post by Steele.

From the corner, Curtis Davies saw his bicycle kick go just wide of the post as the home side continued to look for the opening goal.

Rovers finally got an effort on target after 39 minutes but Allan McGregor got down low to his left to push away a header from Rhodes.

Clucas and Diame both shot off target as Hull looked to finish the first half with a flourish.

Tom Huddlestone's volley from the edge of the area with 51 minutes gone forced Steele to save as the home side continued to dominate.

Ben Marshall volleyed over from a Craig Conway corner just before the hour in a rare Blackburn attack.

Livermore made his first league appearance since last season after 65 minutes in place of Andy Robertson, with Clucas dropping to left-back.

A round-up of all Saturday's action from the Sky Bet Championship.

Livermore had played in the 1-0 Capital One Cup win over Swansea in midweek.

Hull took the lead after 72 minutes when Elmohamady crossed the ball in low from the right and Hernandez side-footed it home from close range.

Steele was booked after protesting to referee Andy Haines as the striker had appeared to be offside when he was played in.

But Blackburn snatched a draw in the first of six minutes of stoppage time when Rhodes headed in a Conway corner.

Hull manager Steve Bruce:

"Too many (of my players) are not playing well enough to what we know they are capable of. We urgently players to start performing the way we know they can. It has been a difficult (transfer window) with not knowing who was staying and who was going. It wasn't until we added Maloney and Livermore that we added that bit of quality the game needed."

Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer:

"It was no more than we deserved. We came to a strong Premiership outfit and took the game to them. We have always got that belief and confidence we can create a chance. Jordan has got the opportunity. He has done brilliant for the goal."
