David Barral Torres: Scored a hat-trick for Levante against Malaga

Levante's impressive home form looked like it could save them from the drop as they moved out of the Primera Division relegation zone with a 2-1 comeback victory over freefalling Eibar.

Two goals in three second-half minutes from David Barral and Kalu Uche helped Levante claim a fourth league win in their last five matches at the Ciutat de Valencia, lifting them up to 16th and a point above the drop zone.

Eibar had taken a 54th-minute lead through Saul Berjon but Levante's fightback combined with the late dismissal of visiting midfielder Dani Garcia consigned them to a seventh successive league defeat.

Eibar now stand just two points above Levante and, to make matters worse, next face mighty Barcelona.

It could have been a completely different story for the Primera Division newcomers though if, following a low-key first half devoid of much goalmouth action, they could have held onto the brilliant lead given to them by Saul.

Eneko Boveda dinked the ball to the far post and Saul swivelled to send an unstoppable volley back across home goalkeeper Diego Marino and into the far corner.

Eibar's joy was turned to anguish inside 12 minutes though as Levante - who have now only lost once in their last 11 home games - stormed back to take the lead.

Barral levelled things up when he showed quick thinking to divert Antonio Tono's cross-shot inside the far post from close range, and then two minutes later Nigeria striker Uche took advantage of a defensive mistake by Raul Navas to drill a low shot past Jaime Jimenez.

There was no way back for Eibar after that, especially with Garcia picking up a second booking late on, and their Primera Division survival is beginning to look under serious threat.
