Northampton recorded a second successive win after a 1-0 triumph at Leyton Orient in League One.

A second-half strike from captain Sam Hoskins proved to be the difference in a game where the visitors had the edge.

The Cobblers started strongly, although Orient forward Diallang Jaiyesimi forced Lee Burge to block his acute angled shot after 11 minutes.

The visitors had the bulk of play for the majority of the first half but were not able to create any meaningful opportunities.

Northampton were forced into a change two minutes after the restart when Nesta Guinness-Walker left the field in some discomfort.

The change did not prevent the away side taking the lead two minutes before the hour mark.

A left-flank cross by Tyrese Fornah found an unmarked Hoskins, who connected first time past Tommy Simkin.

Orient chased the game for the equaliser and Burge had to turn a Demetri Mitchell delivery into the box away from danger after 81 minutes.

A Josh Koroma effort before added time went straight into the arms of Burge as Northampton held on for the win.
