A spectacular goal from debutant Craig Noone earned Exeter a 1-1 draw at Leyton Orient.

Debutant ensures wait for home win continues

A spectacular goal from debutant Craig Noone left Leyton Orient still looking for their first home win of the season in League One as they drew 1-1 with Exeter. Orient's first-half superiority was rewarded when left-back Charlie Daniels shot them ahead with the aid of a huge deflection from a set-piece after 27 minutes. Orient's earlier threats had come from headers from midfielder Jimmy Smith, twice, and striker Scott McGleish. Exeter midfielder Ryan Harley shot wide and home goalkeeper Glenn Morris had to dive at the feet of striker Marcus Stewart as half-time approached. Geraint Williams' Orient lost Stephen Purches and Adam Chambers to injury at half-time. Harley went close as City had more of the play, although a header from Orient striker Adrian Patulea was not far away. Exeter's equaliser came in freak fashion when Noone despatched a spectacular effort from 45 yards to deceive Morris after 77 minutes.
