Leyton Orient and Stevenage showed plenty of endeavour and commitment as the two sides shared an absorbing 0-0 draw.

The visitors came closest to breaking the deadlock when Phil Edwards saw his powerful 20-yard drive strike the foot of the upright and rebound to safety in the 72nd minute. With both defences proving resilient, chances were few and far between although Orient looked the more threatening in a lively opening 45 minutes, with the two best opportunities falling to striker Kevin Lisbie, who screwed his shot narrowly wide on both occasions. Boro, who had won their previous three away matches and were unbeaten in six games, looked more lively after the break and O's goalkeeper Ben Alnwick was forced to produce three vital saves to keep his side on level terms. His opposite number Chris Day also earned his wages with a fine save from winger George Porter halfway through the second period. The draw extends Orient's uneaten run to 10 games, while their opponents have now gone seven matches without defeat.
