City went in front after 12 minutes when Lee Frecklington stole into the box to head home a cross from Paul Green. A superb 18th-minute pass from Adrian Patulea released Dany N'Guessan and the Frenchman ran from the halfway line before finishing with a superb shot into the top corner. Gillingham had plenty of the ball in the second-half, but despite their domination failed to manage a single shot on target. Lincoln always looked the more dangerous with both Patulea and Lee Beevers wasting chances. The victory was Lincoln's fourth in a row, but came at a cost with midfielders Frecklington and Scott Kerr both limping off with second-half injuries.
