Luton edged closer to wiping off their minus points deficit with a 3-1 victory over 10-man Barnet, who are without a win in their last 10 games.
The Hatters started on fire and took the lead in the 11th minute when Chris Martin teed up Paul McVeigh to find the top corner from 18 yards with an exquisite sidefoot finish.
It was 2-0 four minutes later as Martin glanced home his fifth of the season from 12 yards after Rossi Jarvis delivered from the right.
Barnet pulled a goal back five minutes before the break when full-back Abu Ogogo converted Kenny Gillet's cross from close range.
But Ogogo was then sent off for a second bookable offence after the half-time whistle as he squared up to Martin.
A one-sided second period saw Luton twice hit the woodwork through Michael Spillane in the 55th minute and McVeigh in the 87th minute before Michael Townsend's own goal two minutes from time sealed the win after he headed into his own net.
