Accrington Stanley ended an eight-match winless drought with a gutsy 2-0 win over Macclesfield. John Coleman's side pulled six points clear of the drop zone with an impressive performance at Moss Rose, recording their first away win since October. Defender Robbie Williams put the visitors in front just before the stroke of half time from a narrow angle following up from Chris Turner's initial attempt. Late in the game, Andrew Proctor made sure of all three points when he slotted home from close range. Emile Sinclair provided the best of chances for the Silkmen on just 17 minutes when forcing Kenny Arthur into a magnificent save to block his rocket curling shot. Stanley, though, looked comfortable throughout and created the better of chances to see out a deserved 2-0 victory.
