MK Dons vs Port Vale preview

George Williams and Robbie Simpson could be pushing for recalls when MK Dons look to take a step closer to promotion when they host Port Vale.

The pair returned to the squad following injury for Friday's win at Notts County, defender Williams coming off the bench and striker Simpson an unused substitute.

Boss Paul Tisdale must also decide whether to restore Chuks Aneke to the starting line-up. He came on as a second-half substitute against County and scored what proved to be a decisive second goal. Tisdale will, though, still be without Alex Gilbey, Mitch Hancox and Jordan Moore-Taylor, all three having undergone surgery.

Vale are set to still be without midfielder Manny Oyeleke because of a calf injury. Ben Whitfield, Leon Legge and Tom Pope all returned to the team for Friday's 4-1 loss at home to Stevenage and will be hoping to keep their places.

Despite that heavy defeat, results elsewhere ended any lingering relegation fears for Vale.
