Barnet defeated Newport County 2-1 at Rodney Parade for their first win in 11 games.
A last minute goal from Shaquile Coulthirst who scored just three minutes after John Akinda had equalised for the visitors, was enough to secure the win.
A Ben White header had appeared to win the game for the Exiles but they were left to rue a number of missed opportunities.
Victory for the Bees lifts them out of the relegation zone in Mark McGhee's second game in charge.
The Exiles showed their intent from the start as Robbie Willmott's free-kick into the six-yard box was cleared after a scramble for the ball.
The visitors came closest to breaking the deadlock when Ryan Watson forced Exiles keeper Joe Day into a vital save from a menacing free-kick.
Flynn's side dominated the first half and looked the likeliest side to break the deadlock but could not break the Bees' resistance.
But Newport's inability to take their chances came back to bite them as Coulthirst and Akinda condemned them to their second home defeat of the season.
