Coventry loanee Ben Turner has returned to Cardiff to have treatment on an ankle injury that could rule him out for four months.

The 27-year-old defender was forced off during Coventry's 1-1 draw at Oldham on Saturday and may need surgery.

Sky Blues boss Tony Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph: "It's not good news for Ben or us.

"It looks as if he's going to need another operation, this time on his left ankle, so he's gone back to Cardiff to come under their supervision.

"Obviously our thoughts are with Ben who won't be in a good place at the moment but as I said to him, he's been through it with his other ankle and he's made of the right stuff.

"I am sure he'll come out the other end stronger."
