Ipswich have loaned Paul Digby from Sky Bet League One Barnsley until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has managed just three appearances for the Tykes this campaign - the last back in October - but will join Mick McCarthy's side as they seek to gain promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
Digby has played 25 first-team games for Barnsley during his career but has had only one outing in the league this campaign.
He will not be available on Saturday for Ipswich's Championship game with Burnley, who sit one place and one point above the Tractor Boys in the table.
