Derby forward Simon Dawkins has joined Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquakes on a permanent deal.
Dawkins, 28, who played for the California-based club on loan during the 2011 and 2012 seasons, made 74 appearances and scored nine goals for the Rams after joining from Tottenham.
Head coach Paul Clement told the club's website that the Jamaican international is "an example to us all" after his departure from Pride Park.
"We wish Simon, who was a popular member of the dressing room, every success at San Jose Earthquakes," said Clement.
"He handled that situation well - it would have been easy to down tools, reduce his effort and possibly be disruptive.
"Instead, he was professional, respectful and hard-working and he dealt with the disappointment with class and he is an example to us all."
