Defender Anthony Gerrard has left Shrewsbury after his deal was cancelled by mutual agreement.

The 29-year-old began training with the Shrews in October and signed on a non-contract basis, playing 15 games in Sky Bet League 1 and the FA Cup.

A statement on the club website read: "We would like to thank Ant for his hard work and dedication during his time at the club and wish him well for the future."

Gerrard, a cousin of former Liverpool and England captain Steven, had been without a club after being released by Huddersfield last summer.
