Burton midfielder Matty Palmer has joined Sky Bet League 1 rivals Oldham on loan for a month.
Palmer, 20, who progressed through Burton's youth system and has made 13 appearances this season, will stay at Oldham until February 27.
"He has only started two league games out of 25 and the midfield is an area where we are strong in," Burton boss Nigel Clough told the club's official website.
"It's an ideal opportunity available for him to go and play some football.
"With John Sheridan being their manager we know that Matty will get on the ball with his style of play."
