Crawley have re-signed goalkeeper Paul Jones on a month's loan from Sky Bet League 2 rivals Portsmouth.

Jones joined the Reds from Peterborough in May 2012 and was an ever-present for two seasons in Sky Bet League 1.

The 29-year-old left for Portsmouth in 2014 and has made 45 appearances for the south-coast club.

Manager Mark Yates told Crawley's official website: "We're delighted to have Paul with us and I'd like to thank (Portsmouth manager) Paul Cook for allowing us to take him on loan.

"Young Callum Preston has made great strides this season but we need to have two good keepers at the club and Paul brings massive experience and he is a big presence in the penalty area.

"And of course he knows the club, even if I doubt if there is anyone who is still here from the playing side from when he was here, which definitely helps."
