Huddersfield midfielder Jonathan Hogg has been provisionally ruled out for eight weeks with a knee injury.

Hogg, 27, was substituted in the second half of Huddersfield's Sky Bet Championship game with Ipswich last weekend after stretching to make a tackle.

The Terriers announced on their official website that Hogg has strained the MCL on the inside of his knee so is expected to be on the sidelines for the next eight weeks.

Head Coach David Wagner said: "We are all disappointed for Jonathan, as he has been playing excellently in our midfield since coming into the team in December.

"The news of his injury is what we expected after the game, so he will now wear a knee brace and start work with our medical department.

"Jon is an excellent professional who works very hard, so I know he will do everything he can to get back fit and healthy. We look forward to his return.

"Injuries are part of the game. They are not something you like to happen to your team, but you have to accept and handle them. We will find solutions to replace 'Hoggy' and will give him all the time and support he needs."
