Andrew Crofts has returned to Gillingham on loan from Brighton until the end of the season.
The former Gills skipper left Priestfield to join the Seagulls in June 2009, and although he later signed for Norwich, the midfielder then returned to the Amex Stadium in the summer of 2012.
Crofts, 31, played his last match for Brighton in February's 4-1 defeat at Cardiff and will now try to help Gillingham in their quest for promotion from Sky Bet League 1.
Brighton boss Chris Hughton told the club's official website: "This loan move gives him the opportunity to get in some valuable playing time before the end of the season."
Crofts goes straight into the starting line-up for Gills' game at Southend.
