Doncaster have announced the signing of Tommy Rowe on a three-year deal.

The midfielder, who spent time on loan at Rovers from Wolves last season, has joined the club permanently following his release from Molineux.

He becomes Rovers' first signing of the close season and boss Darren Ferguson hopes he can be a key player as his side chase Sky Bet League 2 promotion.

Rowe, whose career had been inextricably linked to Ferguson, had no qualms about returning to the Keepmoat.

"I first signed for Peterborough when I was 19 years old and I really enjoy working under him," Rowe told the club's official website.

"I've played under Darren for quite a long time, we work very well together on and off the field and I understand how he wants us to play.

"When I first signed on loan my aim was to come here and do well, impress the fans and learn again as a player. I really enjoyed my time and I've signed permanently because of the ambition this club has."
