Barnsley have signed Kayden Jackson on a two-year contract from Wrexham.

The 22-year-old, who scored four goals in 19 appearances for the non-league side last season, becomes the third player to join Oakwell following the arrivals of Stefan Payne and Andy Yiadom last week.

Speaking to the official website Jackson said: "There were a few other clubs in the mix offering me certain deals.

"But as soon as I spoke to the gaffer and Ben (Mansford) here and saw the plan they had for the club and the way they wanted to go forward, as soon as I saw that I thought it matched me perfectly. I want to continue to develop.

"I admire the way they play. It's very rare you see in this day and age two attacking wingers and two attacking strikers.

"As a striker you want to be playing 4-4-2 and two wingers getting down the wing and putting balls into the box.

"I've got bundles of pace as a lot of people have probably heard," he added. "I like to get at defenders and not give them a minute's peace. I like to be scoring goals."

Reds' boss Paul Heckingbottom, who is preparing his side for the Sky Bet League 1 play-off final, said: "We're really thrilled to have Kayden choose us over other clubs.

"He has pace to burn, likes to get at defenders and will fit in nicely to the way we play. He has brilliant potential and we're excited to have him on board."
