Crawley head coach Dermot Drummy has added to his squad with the signings of defenders Alper Tursun and Mark Connolly.

Tursun, who was born in London, had been playing in Turkey with Alanyaspor, helping them to promotion to the Premier League.

He has signed a one-year contract with the Reds while Connolly returns to the club on a two-year deal having left for Kilmarnock in 2014.

Drummy told the club's official website: "Alper is an excellent addition to the squad. Our scouting team have been aware of him for a while.

"He has picked up good experience in Turkey but he's a London boy and was keen to come back and really push on in his career in England.

"He's athletic, has a good touch and won't be afraid of getting stuck in. We're looking forward to seeing how he settles down here and I know he's keen to make a big impression at Crawley."

On Connolly, Drummy added: "We have been looking for an aggressive, dominant defender to compliment what we already have and I think we have found him in Mark.

"He's a warrior and he's also a very good defender who can play centrally or at right-back.

"Speaking to people at the club, I know how popular he was during his first spell here and I'm delighted for everyone we've been able to bring him back."
