Nottingham Forest appear to be on the brink of completing the signing of Thomas Lam after the defender posted a picture of himself on social media putting pen to paper on a contract.

The Finland international centre-back, who was pictured alongside Forest financial director Lalou Tifrit, looks to be heading to the City Ground from Dutch club PEC Zwolle on a free transfer.

The transfer is expected to be confirmed by Forest when they receive Football League approval.

Lam, who was offered fresh terms by Zwolle, also wrote on Instagram: "New chapter in my career! NFFC."

The 22-year-old has made five appearances for Finland and scored four goals in 62 matches for PEC Zwolle after joining them from fellow Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar in 2014.

Lam will be Forest's second signing since Philippe Montanier took over as head coach last week following the arrival of former Everton striker Apostolos Vellios from Iraklis Thessaloniki.
