Lee Tomlin has signed a three-year deal with Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City.

The 27-year-old playmaker had a successful loan spell with the Robins last season and has now made the move from Bournemouth a permanent one.

Tomlin scored six times in 18 appearances to help City avoid the drop to League One and manager Lee Johnson admits he is delighted to signed him.

"We're delighted to welcome Lee back to Ashton Gate. Credit has to go to the board for their efforts in getting this deal done," Johnson told his club's official website.

"I believe we've signed the most talented player at Championship level in terms of ability. He was fantastic for us last season and I believe his best football is ahead of him.

"He does things every day in training that make you smile - you think 'how on earth has he done that?'
