Newcastle's Netherlands international forward Siem de Jong has joined PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan deal.
The 27-year-old signed a six-year deal with the Magpies in the summer of 2014, having been acquired from Ajax.
However, his time at the club has been marred by a series of injury problems and he has only made 26 appearances, including just seven starts.
Approaching full fitness again now after picking up a hamstring injury in pre-season, he will link up at Eindhoven with his brother Luuk de Jong, who once had a loan spell with Newcastle.
Luuk de Jong spoke to the Dutch media over the weekend about his brother's imminent arrival and said: "It's a good opportunity for him to show himself again at the highest level.
"For PSV, it is good to have a lot of competition.
"We are entering a tough season and need options.
"Once before, we had the chance to play together. Then Siem went to Newcastle. I could have stayed there, but I chose to go to PSV.
"It's great that we can play together now anyway."
