Doncaster have signed former Leeds and Southampton defender Frazer Richardson on a short-term deal.

The Sky Bet League Two club have announced the 33-year-old, who was a free agent after leaving Rotherham earlier in the summer, has signed a two-month deal.

Richardson spent two seasons with the Millers having also had spells with Stoke, Charlton, Middlesbrough and Ipswich during his career.

Richardson spent some time training with Bolton during the summer and hopes he can settle in quickly at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He told the club's website: "Things haven't worked out how we quite hoped in the summer for various reasons but Darren (Ferguson) gave me a ring and wanted to bring me in for a couple of months and I jumped at the chance. I'm looking at this as a really good opportunity for myself.

"There's a really good set up here, a great bunch of lads and Darren and his backroom staff are a good management team. As soon as I got the call it was a no-brainer so I'm really looking forward to it."
