Sheffield United have signed Ethan Ebanks-Landell on a season-long loan deal from Wolves.

The 23-year-old came through Wanderers' academy and has played 49 times for the Sky Bet Championship club.

Blades boss Chris Wilder told United's official website: "Ethan is a defender in the mould that we like. He's a communicator and aggressive and has Championship experience.

"It has been widely reported that we have been after a right-sided central defender to add cover and competition and Ethan is another who has been on our radar for quite some time."

United added another defender to their ranks on Wednesday evening, signing Burnley left-back Daniel Lafferty on a season-long loan.

Wilder added on sufc.co.uk: "We are trying to create genuine competition for places and with Kieran Wallace going out today, Daniel will challenge Chris Hussey for the left-back role, as will Ethan, with the central defenders.
