Former Tottenham and Arsenal defender Sol Campbell is coaching at QPR, Sky sources understand.
Campbell has previously spent time coaching at QPR's Harlington training complex while working towards his UEFA Pro Licence.
He spent some time coaching the club's academy and U23 players last year before heading to Trinidad & Tobago to assist head coach Dennis Lawrence.
The highly decorated former England international recently applied - and was interviewed - for the manager's job at Grimsby Town, eventually missing out to Michael Jolley, who has never played professional football.
Prior to that, Campbell was interviewed for a vacancy in Kazakhstan as well as managerial jobs at League One Oldham and Oxford.
It is understood Campbell is working with QPR on a temporary basis and remains keen to take up a managerial position in his own right in the future.
It has been a productive week on the international stage for QPR's youngsters, with midfielder Ryan Manning and winger Paul Smyth both in action this week.
Manning scored in Republic of Ireland's 3-1 win against Iceland on Thursday, while 20-year-old Smyth was in action for Northern Ireland's U21s on the same night.
Smyth was then handed a surprise late call-up to join the seniors and came off the bench to make his Northern Ireland debut on Saturday night, capping a week to remember by scoring an 86th-minute winner against South Korea.
Asked what he said to Smyth beforehand, Northern Ireland boss O'Neill said: "I just asked him had he got 10 minutes running in him because he played 90 minutes the other night.
"I told him to go and enjoy it. He loved it, you could just see. His enthusiasm for the game is infectious, the boys love him, he knows all the players because he spent 40-odd days with them in France [at Euro 2016].
"It was great for him, he's a player with a big future, but he has to work hard, he knows that himself. He's still very small, he's still very light but he's a huge heart for the game and we're delighted with him.
