Manchester City and Wales forward Rabbi Matondo has completed his move to Bundesliga side Schalke on a permanent deal, the clubs confirmed on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old has joined for a £10m fee on a four-and-a-half-year contact which will run until 2023 - making him the latest young British player to join a German team - following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson.
Sky sources understand his Schalke contract includes a buy-back clause for City in the future.
Matondo, who did not make a first-team appearance for City, was born in Liverpool and was eligible to represent DR Congo, England or Wales at international level before opting for the latter.
He made his debut under Ryan Giggs against Albania in November 2018 and began his club career at Cardiff before he was brought to the City academy in 2016.
Speaking of Matondo on Monday, after City rejected an initial £8.6m bid from Schalke for their U23 star, manager Pep Guardiola said: "I know how good he is.
"He's a winger, so fast, incredibly quick and a young talent. That is another thing; how good this club is working."
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri says English youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is staying at the club amid interest from Bayern Munich, who have seen four bids - the last for £35m - rejected.
