Ross County midfielder Iain Vigurs was arrested and charged after an incident in Inverness on Saturday night.

Police Scotland were called to Johnny Foxes on Bank Street to deal with a disturbance and confirmed a 30-year-old man had been arrested and charged as a result.

The Scottish Championship side said on Sunday that one of their players had been arrested and would be making no further comment as police proceedings had been opened.

The club said in Sunday's statement: "Ross County FC are aware that one of our players was arrested by police in Inverness City Centre in the early hours of 3rd February 2019.

"As this is a police investigation it would be inappropriate to make any further comment.

"The club will also review the matter in line with our code of conduct and disciplinary procedure."

Vigurs returned to the Dingwall club this season for a second spell but has not played since November 10 because of a foot injury.

He also played for the club between 2009 and 2013, before leaving for Motherwell, and re-joined County in May after three years with local rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
