Bogdani rejected Roma switch

Livorno bolstered their squad on transfer deadline day with three additions, with Erjon Bogdani the pick of the bunch.

The Tuscans landed Bogdani from Chievo, Roma's Edgar Alvarez and Simone De Vezze from Messina in a busy day of transfer activity.

Bogdani had been expected to join Roma after a fee was agreed, but Livorno made a late bid and landed him on a one-year loan with a view to a permanent deal.

The Albania international is looking forward to some regular football with Livorno, which is why he rejected the chance to join Roma.

"I am looking for a side that will let me play regular first-team football, but at Roma I would have only been on the bench," he said.

Bogdani has been joined by Alvarez and De Vezze although the signings failed to prevent Livorno slipping to a 4-2 weekend defeat to Palermo.
