Abbott in bid to identify talent

Carlisle United caretaker manager Greg Abbott has taken defender Martin Ekani on trial, in a bid to add 'something different' to his squad. Ekani is a 23-year-old defender from French side Lens, and could feature in Wednesday's reserve-team match against Wrexham. Abbott is also keen to have a look at trialist Darren Campion, an ex-Birmingham City player. The Blues boss hopes to take a good look at the duo, in an attempt to bring fresh faces into the club. "With Martin, we are hoping that he gets clearance in time so that we can have a look at him in the reserve game," Abbott told the club's official website. "We're always searching for players who might bring something different, so it won't hurt us to have a look at him and see how he gets on. "With Darren, he isn't with us today, but we're hoping to have a word with him this afternoon, and we can maybe get him involved on Wednesday."
