Israel midfielder looking for upset

Former Bolton midfielder Idan Tal is confident Israel can take something from their Euro 2008 qualifier with England on Saturday. Israel held Steve McClaren's side to a goalless draw in Tel Aviv in March and are currently three points ahead of England in Group E, although they have played a game more. England will start the return fixture at Wembley as favourites but Tal, now at Beitar Jerusalem, believes Israel can spring a surprise. "We want to do something and we believe we can do something. We are looking forward to the game," said Tal. "We had good results and the way we played up until now was good, we did good things." Tal noticed the pressure McClaren was under during his time at Bolton, and he hopes England will struggle to cope with the weight of expectation. He explained: "I heard when I was in England last season and read everything about the manager. "They expected England to be the leader of the group and until now they haven't played that well and the results weren't so good.

Still a threat

"They are under pressure but still they are at home, at the new Wembley, with their support so it will be difficult for us." Tal insists England will still be dangerous even though Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and Frank Lampard all miss out due to injury. "Obviously I don't wish anyone to be injured, it's not nice, but maybe it will be good," he said. "But they will still have 11 players so it will be very difficult. It doesn't matter who is playing for England, it will be a hard game for us."
