Midfielder commits until 2010

Kai Bulow has committed his future to struggling Bundesliga side Hansa Rostock. The midfielder signed up with Rostock in 1994 and has established himself as a regular member of the team in the last couple of seasons. He has put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract extension to keep him at the Osteestadion until 2010. "I feel very much at home here," Bulow told the club's official website. "I have grown up at this club and have a lot to thank Hansa for. I want to pay back some of my debts to the club in the coming years."

Beinlich boost

There was more good news for Rostock coach Frank Pagelsdorf as it emerged that club captain Stefan Beinlich will not have to undergo an operation on his injured knee. An examination by club doctors showed that the former Aston Villa midfielder had not suffered any ligament damage.
