Midfielder training with Sky Blues

Coventry are giving a helping hand to their former midfielder Khalilou Fadiga as he continues his return from long-term injury. Fadiga is now back in training with the Sky Blues, whom he joined on a short-term deal in February after leaving Bolton. This welcome news comes after the 32-year-old Senegalese ruptured his Achilles tendon during Coventry's Championship defeat to Preston at the Ricoh Arena on 14th April. He subsequently spent the summer recovering from the injury and has now been given the green light to return to training.

Obligation

Coventry manager Iain Dowie told the club`s official website: "He got injured while playing for us so we felt we had an obligation to allow him to regain his fitness with us when he was ready. "He is here for a couple of weeks so we will see how it goes and take it from there." On a more negative injury note, Coventry defender Colin Hawkins has suffered a setback in his recovery from an Achilles problem, when he broke down just eight minutes into the Sky Blues' reserve-team game at Bradford on Wednesday.
