Dave Morley has left Macclesfield after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
The former Silkmen captain has dropped down the pecking order at Moss Rose this season and the club have decided to let him leave.
Silkmen boss Ian Brightwell could not assure Morley of regular first-team football and the defender has now left the club.

"We sat down after the game last week and decided that is was in the best interests of both parties if Dave was to move on," Brightwell told the club's official website.
"It was made it clear to him that it was extremely unlikely that he would have featured in the starting XI, and given his desire to carry on playing first team football we agreed to cancel his contract."
