Midfielder out for up to three months, but it could have been a lot worse

Leicester have received positive news on Levi Porter's knee injury, but the midfielder will still be out for up to three months. Porter was injured in The Foxes' Carling Cup defeat to Chelsea and it was feared he could be out for the rest of the season with cruciate ligament damage. However, the 20-year-old is expected be back in action around January after scans showed mainly damage to his medial collateral ligament.

"He was hit on the outside of the knee, which twisted. He has strained a ligament," Leicester physio Dave Rennie told the Mercury. "We sent him for an MRI scan. The results will give us more detailed analysis of the damage. "There's some risk it's gone on to damage the cruciate but we won't know until we see the scan results. "We won't be able to give an accurate time-frame until we have seen the results, but we are probably looking in the realms of eight to 12 weeks."
