Serbian striker joins Bundesliga strugglers
Bundesliga strugglers Energie Cottbus have signed Serbian striker Branko Jelic.
The 30-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract through to 2010 and will officially join the eastern German outfit on a free transfer from Chinese club Xiamen Lanshi in January.
Jelic, who won the Chinese league's Player of the Year award in 2004/2005 after scoring 21 goals for his club, impressed Energie coach Bojan Prasnikar during a trial period earlier this month.
He is Energie's fourth new signing of the winter following Ivan Radeljic, Dusan Vasiljevic und Kenny Schmidt to the Lausitzer.
