Barone and Zanetti linked with Inter

Torino have dismissed speculation linking Simone Barone and Paolo Zanetti with moves to Internazionale. Zanetti and Barone have linked up to good effect in the centre of Torino's midfield this season. Inter are reportedly keen to sign them both in the January transfer window but Torino sporting director Stefano Antonelli insists neither player will be leaving. "I'm pleased that Inter like Barone and Zanetti, but they will remain here even after January," said Antonelli. "Toro must first look after themselves and both Barone and Zanetti are valuable to us. For us they are important players and will remain in Turin. "For now we are only thinking about strengthening ourselves and if there is an opportunity to improve we shall try to take advantage of it." Torino have been strongly linked with Shakhtar Donetsk striker Cristian Lucarelli, who enjoyed a spell with the club between 2001 and 2003. Lucarelli is expected to return to Serie A in the New Year, although Genoa are also in the frame.
