Saddlers boss under no pressure to add new faces
Richard Money has told
skysports.comthat he will not be rushed into making signings this month.
The Saddlers confirmed earlier in the week that former winger Martin Brittain had joined on a short-term deal after the player had been released by Carlisle earlier in the season, but he remains the only arrival during the transfer window.
Walsall boss Money though remains unconcerned by the lack of activity and has revealed that he is under no pressure to add to a squad which is currently occupying a League One play-off spot.
Different view
"I think clubs in our division look at the transfer window slightly differently to the Premier League clubs," he said.
"The window doesn't necessarily close for us at the end of January, it's just the permanent signings which stop after that.
"The loan window is open until the third Thursday in March so we tend to view the January transfer window differently to everyone else, so there's no real urge to have to sign people by the end of this month."
Fox rumours
Money also confirmed that the club are still trying to tie Daniel Fox down to a new contract after rumours that Leeds were interested in taking the full-back to Elland Road.
"It's well documented that we have offered him a new deal, but at the minute he hasn't signed it," he said.
"But I cannot make it any clearer that he is not going to be leaving the club unless we get the money that we think he is worth, which is a lot of money.
"We want to keep all of our young players together because we think we've got something going and as the manager I will fight tooth and nail to keep them here."
